The George Alderslade family website
We live in Teesside, England where 56% of all the chemicals manufactured
in Britain are made. My Grandparents came to Billingham in 1940 from Wheatly Hill, County Durham. Grandad worked in the I.C.I
Anhydrite mine as a fitter. He died in 1953 aged only 47. Grandma jenny worked as a dinner nanny for many years before
retiring.
My father worked at Billingham & then Wilton I.C.I. for
30 years. My mum worked as a dinner lady,a priests housekeeper,a local scrap mans receptionist & then as a home help co-ordinator.
Cindys parents lived in Middlesbrough, her dad worked for 37 years at Dorman Long
steel works on the coke ovens a very hot and unplesent job, he loved to grow his own vegtables and was a keen ball room dancer Cindys
mam worked in a hotel in Scarborough before getting married. Her mam was in her 40's when she had Cindy & later Cindys
brother Fred who works at I.C.I. Wilton as an electrician

What's New? October 2005
Our four kids are doing ok, Angela is at an engineering firm in Darlington, Alison got
her degree in anthropology from Durham university, Christopher is living in Middlesbrough and John is in the middle of
his mechanical fitting apprenticeship with Cummings Diesel Chris & anna have baby nicana born 14 4 05
I have finished building a Conservatory at my dads house along with a large fish pond, great
fun
Here I might add an entry whenever I make an update to my web site. Where appropriate, I'll include a link to the
change. For example:
